Yoko Ishi

Principal Stylist

"For me, hair is form of "living art." Technical precision plus an intuitive understanding of the client creates beautiful, unique results."

From an early age, Yoko was inspired by many different artistries, and was destined for a career in a creative field. She began hairdressing in her native Japan, and in the late 70's, found her way to London and the Sassoon Academy.

Her obvious dedication earned her a scholarship, and she joined the Sloane Street team. After qualifying, Yoko spent time gaining salon and editorial experience in Milan, as well as working shows across Europe and Japan, before returning to work and teach in London. In 1992 she created the schoolship program, giving Japanese students the opportunity to learn from the Sassoon elite in Japan.

She brings a unique perspective to the salon and the classroom, combining her background in Fine Arts with the technical precision of the Sassoon philosophy, and Yoko now takes care of her clients at House of Sassoon Soho, where she strives to provide effortless "Wash and Go" styles uniquely suited to each client.
