Matt joined the Sassoon team in 2007, after completing a diploma course at the London academy. He joined the Sloane Street salon, bringing with him a background in the fashion industry. His creativity and passion saw him quickly promoted up through the ranks to Assistant Colour Director, and in 2012 was awarded Colourist of the Year at the Sassoon awards. By 2013 he was further promoted to Colour Director of the relocated King's Road salon. Matt is a mainstay on the Salon International stage every year, and frequently contributes his fashion skillset to Sassoon collections. 

What inspires you and why:

• Having worked in the fashion industry I still enjoy following the latest collections and gaining inspiration from them.

Who do you admire and why:

• I admire my parents. They are amazing and encouraging people who always seem to know the best thing to do in any given situation. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.

Top tip:

• Listen to what your clients want, don’t be late and always be honest (but polite at the same time)
